From October 9th to January 13th 2014, the Musée de l’Orangerie pays a tribute to Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, two famous artists who completed each other in their art.
This exhibition is a great opportunity to discover the art of this Mexican couple who loved their country. Their favorite themes were religion, the circle of life, revolutions and also social relationships, although they illustrated it in very different, but complementary ways. Frida Kahlo’s life took a significant turn when she was in a car accident: she spent a whole year at a hospital and was saved by her painting. Her parents set a mirror in her room so she could see herself, and this is how self-portraits became her specialty.
Discover the touching story of Frida Kahlo through this beautiful exhibition organized in collaboration with the Dolores Olmedo Museum in Mexico City. For your convenience, the museum is located only 18 minutes away from Hotel Aida Opera with the Paris metro.
